Depending on how often your wooden chopping board is used and exactly how you use it, a wooden chopping board requires periodic maintenance. Usually, once every 1-2 months, the board can be treated with a special oil.
You can buy special oil in our online shop or for example in Ikea.
If your board is showing signs of knife or food marks, go ahead and sand it with 180 grit sandpaper. The marks will disappear. After this treatment, be sure to wipe the board with oil.
How to wipe the board. Apply some oil and wipe it off with a dry cloth. Rub in the oil in circular motions. Add more oil if necessary. Allow to dry for 2 hours or more. Remove the excess oil with a dry cloth. That’s it!
